Generally, do and does are used in simple present negative and interrogative sentences and did is used in simple past negative and interrogative sentences.
Here we will see special use of do, does, did to stress our speech.
Use of do, does to give stress on speech
We can use do, does to give stress on our words and sentences. It is a special use and can’t be used frequently. This sue is possible only in affirmative sentences of simple present tense.
Do is used with I, we, you, you, they, plural nouns and does is used with he, she, it and singular nouns.
a)I help you. b)I do help you.
See the difference between the two sentences. The first sentence appears normal whereas the second sentence is stressed by using DO.
