Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends, good morning. My name is Samuel Wilson. I would like to express my thoughts about the advantages and disadvantages of city life.
About 30 percent world’s population lives in cities. People live in bungalows, apartments, and skyscrapers. There are all kinds of facilities in the cities. Life in the city is very fast and full of stress and troubles pollution levels are higher and evil activities flourish in the dwelling which are different from each other. But people get attracted to city life because of its comforts, luxuries, facilities, and opportunities.
Now I would like to tell you about the advantages of city life, city life is full of luxuries and comfort. There are many facilities like electricity, water, roads, communication, health, education, employment, business, and real estate. So many people get benefits from them. There are a lot of entertainment facilities like theatres, malls, multiplexes auditoriums, playgrounds, sports clubs, hotels, cable, and data services.
People in the cities get opportunities to earn more than others so that they can lead a life of comfort and luxury. But city life has many disadvantages also. High pollution levels, shortage of resources, high traffic and frequent accidents, high pollution-related diseases like asthma and bronchitis, unemployment, encroachment, thefts, and organized crimes are some of the major issues faced by cities.
City people live in congested houses and lead unhealthy life in slums. So life is full of tensions and stress. It results in lifestyle diseases like hypertension, heart problems, and diabetes.
Very few people in the cities enjoy a luxurious and comfortable life and consume maximum resources and the majority of people struggle to make ends meet.
In this way, we have advantages and disadvantages of city life. It is an individual choice to choose healthy village life or stressful city life.
