Speech about teachers’ Day

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, good morning. My name is John Robbins. I would like to express my thoughts about teachers’ day.

First, I would like to congratulate all the teachers and wish them a very happy teachers’ day. In India, teachers’ day is celebrated on 5th September every year. The reason for this particular date is that it is the birth anniversary of former Indian President Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan who was a great teacher and philosopher.

The purpose of the celebration of teachers’ day is to express our gratitude for teachers. The job of teachers is the greatest as they mold the future generations of our world. They not only teach textbook syllabus but also inculcate moral values in the students to make them successful in their lives.

Teachers develop the character of the nation and they make students ideal citizens of this world by developing their personalities. They teach their students values like hard work, perseverance, punctuality, cooperation and team spirit.

For these reasons, every year teachers’ day is celebrated to express our gratitude for teachers and to show our respect for them. They impart good values with the knowledge to the world.

I am really grateful to my teachers and I love all my teachers very much.

Thank you very much for listening to me.
