Sample Republic Day speech for students and all

Respected chief guest, honorable principal teachers nonteaching staff parents, and dear friends, good morning to you all.

First I would like to wish you all a very happy Republic Day.

We celebrate Republic Day on the 26th of January as a national festival and it is a public holiday all over India.

The reason for this celebration is that India became a Republic country on 26th January 1950 and we celebrate this day as an anniversary of it.

Republic Day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm all over the country. There is a flag hoisting in every school, college, government office, villages, and cities. Various cultural programs are arranged on this occasion and the chief attraction of our Republic Day celebration is the Parade on Rajpath in our National capital Delhi.

Our armed forces present the highest level of discipline and show our military strength and it is followed by the chariots of each state presenting its culture and geography.

Our India became independent from 200 years of British slavery on 15th August 1947. Then constitution committee was formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Our constitution’s draft was accepted by this committee on 26th November 1949 and our constitution came into effect on 26th January 1950.

Our constitution is considered the biggest constitution in the world. It gives us a democratic and secular country and each Indian has certain rights and duties awarded by our constitution.

Our freedom and the Republic status are the results of glorious freedom struggles by our freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lokmanya Tilak, Bhagat Sing, and many known and unknown Indians.

As a free country, we can enjoy its fruits in the form of freedom of work, education, expression, and religion. Our constitution has given us specific rights necessary to lead a free life.

Now it is our responsibility to protect our freedom and constitution and make India No.1 in the world. for that, we must be ready to sacrifice everything we have.

I feel proud to be an Indian citizen and I am very happy to be here expressing myself on the occasion of Republic Day.

Once again I wish you a very happy Republic Day and take your leave.

Thank you very much for listening to me.
