Sample speech on Independence Day for students and all

Respected chief guest, honourable principal, teachers and my patriotic Indians, good morning, I am Karan. I would like to express my thoughts about Indian Independence day celebration.

First I would like to wish you all a very happy Independence Day.

India became free from foreign rule on 15th August 1947 and we celebrate every year its anniversary on 15th August. This day is celebrated as a national festival and there is public holiday on 15th August.

The prime reason of celebrating the Indian Independence day is to salute our great freedom fighters who sacrificed their everything for achieving freedom and to remind us the value of being free and our responsibilities for our Motherland India.

Independence has given us many gifts like freedom of thought, action and education and for that we must be grateful to our freedom fighters who laid their lives for this noble cause of freeing India from around 200 years of British Rule.

Our India was treated like a slave for almost two centuries. This very fact marks the value and importance of being free country.

Before the arrival of British, India was called as a golden sparrow. It had lot of wealth and knowledge. Britishers came here as the traders of the spices and became rulers by using the policy of divide and rule and used the same policy to maintain their power for almost 200 years.

But Indian freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lokmanya Tilak and Pandit Nehru and Bhagat sing took India on the path of freedom by mass awakening. They along with many known and unknown Indians fought for Independence and finally made British rulers run away from our pious country.

Every year we celebrate Our Independence day with great zeal and zest. There is flag hoisting in all the schools and government and private firms accompanied by rich cultural programs and activities. our armed forces celebrtate it with disciplined parades and traditions. Every where one can experience patriotic joy and spirit.

So now it is our responsibility to protect our freedom from foreign invasion and make India No.1 in the world. For that we need to work hard and be ready to sacrifice everything we have,

I feel very happy and proud on this occasion and feel myself lucky to be born in India of glorious culture.

In the end I again wish you a very happy Independence day and take your leave with Jai Hind Jai Bharat.
